Training

I have been interested in training for a long time, but it was only with the arrival of
Luna that I was able to put my theoretical knowledge into practice. I took my first
training steps under the tutelage of a real authority in the field, Zofia Mrzewiñska .
Each day with the hyperactive puppy was full of challenges and discovering new
possibilities. Each walk was a beginning of yet another adventure. In time, I
understood that Luna and me were inseparable.
Luna is an extremely obedient and entirely devoted dog. Everyone stares in awe at
Luna and me and they're impressed by the mutual understanding between us. The bond between us has been growing since our first meeting. Of course, it required a lot
of work on both sides, but the work was sheer pleasure. From time to time the
wayward adolescent seemed to have forgotten everything she had learned. Even
though there were many bumps and bruises involved in the whole process, it was well
worth it. Consistence and patience resulted in me having a well-behaved dog, an
object of envy of my neighbours, friends and casual witnesses of our games and
trainings.
I treat work with Luna entirely as a hobby. However, I've decided to turn my passion
into a profession. I enrolled into numerous courses, trainings and cynological
seminars. I got a lot of encouragement from my friends, neighbours and dog owners
whom I helped training their four-legged charges into well-behaved or at the very
least non-problematic dogs. I'm reportedly a good teacher. And this, together with a
lot of both knowledge and experience, is the base of successful training.
In January 2009, I took part in a seminar "Puppies and young dogs - the art of
growing-up" lead by Turid Rugaas.".
Plans:
In March 2009, I'm starting a half-year long instructor course, lead by Inki Sjösten.
This
includes:
- general obedience
- group work pedagogy
- individual work
- problem solving
- Obedience
- olfactory training (tracking, finding and retrieving objects)
In September,I'm taking part in olfactory workshops for dogs lead by Raili Halme (PDTE) from Finland.
