Our History
My whole life is devoted to dogs. It started by complete chance. One day my brotherin-
law gave me a book on dogs as a consolation after my beloved late kitten Milusia. I
was eight. That was the beginning of an ongoing adventure. After two years of
begging my parents to get me a dog I was able to say that my decision was well
thought out and that I knew much enough about Canis Familiaris to become an owner
of one of them.
When I was ten my dad took the biggest encyclopaedia I had at that time and opened
it somewhere in the middle. He showed me a picture of a dog, covering the name of
the breed beforehand, and asked what I could tell him about it. And so he grilled me
likewise about a few more breeds. He asked me detailed questions about their looks,
character, upbringing, needs, care. It was my first real exam. But I passed it with flying
colours and it was the very same day that he took me to the countryside, where Gama
was already waiting for me. Gama was a Polish greyhound that my uncle had found in
the woods. She got caught in a snare left by a cruel poacher in the very middle of
winter. If it hadn't been for my uncle, she would have definitely frozen to death.
Luckily, fortune smiled on her and she ended up in our loving hands.
Gama filled our home with happiness for eight years. We got to know each other with
real pleasure. Each walk, each trip, each lazy evening spent on a sofa reassured us that
we were the best friends ever and that we would be so forever. Sadly, one day some
hard-hearted evil person kidnapped our greatest joy. Up till now I recall my beautiful
and forever young greyhound's fidelity, trust and amber eyes with nostalgia. It was
her who taught me patience, it was her who helped me shape my assertiveness, it was
her who kept all my juvenile secrets to herself. I grew up and became a woman with
her by my side. It was thanks to these few moments with such an incredible creature
that I built up sensitivity towards and I fell in love with dogs with all my heart.
Without Gama there was no more happiness at home. Mom wasn't able to forgive
herself that it was her who was walking Gama when she got lost. We cried for a long
time, but we were looking for her even longer. Neither the police, nor classified ads
helped. We never got used to the fact that we would never see her again. But our home was missing a wagging tail. That's why, still hoping to find Gama, we decided to
buy another dog. We chose Shih-Tzu. That's how SUGAR Cicho Ciemne, aka Maja, came
into our lives.

We were enthralled by her beauty and obstreperous character and we spoilt her as
we could. I started my love affair with the shows with her. She also originated my first
breeding kennel. In 2001 I registered a kennel under the name of Ne Quid Nimis. The
first litter was also the first dogs that I delivered and joy of playful mischiefs of the
misbehaving doggies. The five 'gremlins' were just as messy as they were cute. Each of
them found their way to loving hands. One bitch gave birth to her first litter, also
under the name of Ne Quid Nimis.
Shows became my passion. And even though Maja obtained best scores and won
medals I wanted something more. The course of events required from me to move to
Kraków. I lived at a Polish greyhound breeding kennel Polot and I continued my
cynological education there, under an expert and a long-time breeder's tutelage. It
was there that Borzojka-P±sik ( P¡SOWA POLOT Z³ocisty Wiatr - Crimson Polot Golden Wind) fell in love with me. And
of course I fell in love with her too. It was real love at first sight. Something incredible.
Majestic greyhound looking at me through her amber eyes. Eyes that were so similar
to Gama's...
P±sik was awesome! When walking in the fields she was always right next to my leg
even when a rabbit bolted in front of her. Then she looked at me questioningly as if
she were saying: "Can I? Please! I'll be back in no time." As soon as I nodded she
started running. It was the most breathtaking view you could ever imagine, a running
Borzoj... Unfortunately, one more time fate proved cruel and it took my little P±sik
away from me. She died of volvulus. We were together only less than a year.
Next, I needed to go back to my hometown, Sandomierz. We came back with Maja to
my parents' home, to support my mum in her illness. Maja was a source of countless
moments of joy for my parents. That's why, when I moved to Kraków again, the sweet,
furry, and garrulous Shih-Tzu stayed with them. Now, with mum gone, Maja is a small
spark of happiness for my dad. She brings a bit of life to a lonely home. They are
indeed inseparable.
For some time I wasn't able to get myself another dog. My work and very frequent trips made it impossible to take such a big responsibility. Moreover, my heart had first
to recover from the loss of my last greyhound. I threw myself into work, but luck was
kind to me and I met my own real love. When we were planning our future life leaving
a dog out was obviously out of the question. It took us months to find one. Each
breed, apart from many advantages, has got some disadvantages. I talked to breeders,
visited kettles, shows and competitions. There was always something missing. I
wanted to find a well-mannered dog that would amaze not only with its looks. I
wanted a dog that would be friendly towards children, one that would never harm
even a fly but would, at the same time, guarantee our safety. I wanted a friend that I
could lean on whenever I needed to.

During one of the shows I saw a white wolf. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to talk to
the owner. Later, when reading a book, I came across some information on white
sheepdogs. I started researching, talking, finding out as much as I could about those
beautiful white furred dogs. I learned breed history and pedigrees. And then, one day
the decision was made. I ordered a White Swiss Shepherd Dog from Ola Cis³ak's
kennel ALPEN ANGEL. I still had one more year to confirm myself in this decision. On
June 10, 2006 a litter "A" was born together with our Luna. I knew from the very
beginning that we would easily understand each other. Even though I had the choice
of three females, it was ALBA LUNA Alpen Angel that caught my eye. Thanks to an
excellent contact with the breeder I was able to follow Luna's progress step by step.
In August we moved to our own, but small, flat. Soon later, Luna joined us and so we
formed a loving, happy family. I was at last able to take my first training steps with the
help of Zofia Mrzewiñska.
When, after a year and a half of hard but pleasurable training of Luna, with the birth
of our son Ignacy our family was finally complete.
In this story there's got be a place for Bona - an Old German Shepherd Dog, Norka - a
purebred Dobermann, and two cats - an alley cat Leon and a purebred Persian cat
Chiquita. They all live in Brzezinka near O¶wiêcim. There's a large garden on their
disposal. They love romping around it with Luna. While the cats bask in the sun at the
terrace, the dogs guard the premises. This actually seems to be Luna's favourite
occupation. It's sheer idyll!
Day by day Luna surprises me more and more. She's a great guardian and a gentle nanny to Ignacy. She takes part in all family games and trips, she is a faithful dog and a
good teacher. She's very handy, too. During the last weeks of my pregnancy, when it
was hard for me even to bend, there she was handing me in anything I'd dropped.
Also, it was literally on her back that I travelled to bed when first serious contractions
came. Oh, I could write a book about Luna's skills and stories about her. But I'm saving
the stories for anyone who decides on getting to know us a bit closer and maybe
become owners of one of our puppies.
As I'm writing this, we're waiting for the decision of the Polish Kennel Club
concerning changing of the breed name.
